Middlesbrough are out of the Vitality Women's FA Cup after going down 0-9 at home against Sheffield United. The score did not reflect the game with a solid effort from Steph Turnbull's side. The game was marred by some very questionable refereeing decisions but, the Blades were clear winners in a tie many had expected them to win.

Pools Youth
returned to winning ways this afternoon as they defeated Birtley Town 6-0 at home. Mid-way through the first half Rebecca Smith gave the Pools a one-goal half time lead. A Demi Burdon hat-trick and goals from Lucy O'Keefe and substitute Katie Cooper secured the hosts' first win since coming back from lockdown.

Billingham Synthonia kept their unbeaten run going with a 4-2 home win over Boldon in Stokesley. Synners lead the match 2-1 at half time and repeated the score in the second half for a third straight victory.

North Riding League leaders Redcar Athletic lost their first game this season narrowly losing 1-0 at Poppleton. The sides were deadlocked at 0-0 at the break.

Guisborough Town maintained their unbeaten record with a 1-9 win at Brompton this afternoon. Guisborough lead 1-4 at half time adding five more unanswered goals in the second half.

Redcar Town Reserves remain second in the league after this afternoon's 1-0 home win against Richmond Town. Town Reserves are now level on points with Athletic following their defeat today.

Stockton Town are up to second in the Durham County League Development Division after a 1-5 away win at South Moor. The Anchors were leading the match 0-2 at half time.

Pools have had a tough start to the season losing their opening four games with a humbling away loss at Ossett Utd last weekend the first such heavy loss they've suffered. In contrast Redcar have enjoyed a very good start to the season winning three of their games and only losing by a penalty against current leaders York City. Redcar are in second place while Pools sit at the foot of the table where anything but defeat this weekend could lift off the bottom. With the quality the hosts possess, it's only a matter of time until they start registering points on the board. With York currently unbeaten and facing fellow unbeaten side Sunderland West End this Sunday, it's important for Town to keep pace wit the league leaders.   Boro Rangers begin life in the North Riding League with a Teesside derby at Guisborough Town Reserves. Boro Rangers will be a very different side with a lot of changes for the new season. Guisborough Reserves will continue to grow and improve and this will be an interesting game to see where both sides are. Redcar Athletic start their campaign with a Teesside derby at Middlesbrough Women Development. On paper, Boro Devs look to have a competitive side with the addition of players like Vicky Gunn, Tyler Sharp and, Ebony Housam, among others. Athletic are always competitive and will be eyeing a place at the top or as close as come the end of the season. Kader return to the senior leagues this season with a home game against fellow newcomers Old Malton St Mary’s .

Weekend Preview: Leeds Utd v Middlesbrough - Norton v Chorley - FA Women's National League Division 1 North

Middlesbrough look to make it three wins from three this Sunday as they travel to West Yorkshire for a big match against Leeds United in The FA National League . Boro have started the season with back to back wins and hope to make a treble this weekend as they bid for an instant return to the premier division. Leeds are currently fourth in the Division 1 North after three games. They won their opening game against Hull 1-0 at home before losing away to Barnsley. The hosts also won their third game in midweek 4-0 at home against Stockport. Last weekend Boro had to dig in against Chorley to come from behind to claim three points for the second game in a row. Norton & Stockton Ancients host Chorley this Sunday looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season. Following Wednesday night's well earned point at Durham Cestria, Norton are in sixth place with five points from their first three games while Chorley are just two points and one place behind.
