Middlesbrough Preview v Stoke City 17/10/21

 

Middlesbrough entertain Stoke City at Bedford Terrace in The FA Women's National League this Sunday. Last weekend Andy Campbell's side picked up their second league win of the campaign and are keen to start building from that dramatic victory, against a Potters side in a similar position. Both have played seven games. Both have lost five. Both are better teams than their current league positions suggest. Boro are two points and places better off than the visitors with two wins while the Potters have won one and drawn one. They've lost three straight games in league and cup since their 1-1 draw with Brighouse three weeks ago. Their only league win so far was the 1-5 away win at Loughborough at the beginning of September. A trend of points (in some form) every three weeks. Neither side has yet managed a clean sheet in the league and have failed to find the back of the net on three occasions each, this game with either be very tight or wide open.

  Boro Rangers begin life in the North Riding League with a Teesside derby at Guisborough Town Reserves. Boro Rangers will be a very different side with a lot of changes for the new season. Guisborough Reserves will continue to grow and improve and this will be an interesting game to see where both sides are. Redcar Athletic start their campaign with a Teesside derby at Middlesbrough Women Development. On paper, Boro Devs look to have a competitive side with the addition of players like Vicky Gunn, Tyler Sharp and, Ebony Housam, among others. Athletic are always competitive and will be eyeing a place at the top or as close as come the end of the season. Kader return to the senior leagues this season with a home game against fellow newcomers Old Malton St Mary’s .

Weekend Preview: Leeds Utd v Middlesbrough - Norton v Chorley - FA Women's National League Division 1 North

Middlesbrough look to make it three wins from three this Sunday as they travel to West Yorkshire for a big match against Leeds United in The FA National League . Boro have started the season with back to back wins and hope to make a treble this weekend as they bid for an instant return to the premier division. Leeds are currently fourth in the Division 1 North after three games. They won their opening game against Hull 1-0 at home before losing away to Barnsley. The hosts also won their third game in midweek 4-0 at home against Stockport. Last weekend Boro had to dig in against Chorley to come from behind to claim three points for the second game in a row. Norton & Stockton Ancients host Chorley this Sunday looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season. Following Wednesday night's well earned point at Durham Cestria, Norton are in sixth place with five points from their first three games while Chorley are just two points and one place behind.
