NERWFL North Preview 17/10/21 Boro Rangers v Chester-le-Street Utd, Blyth Town v Guisborough, Bishop Auckland v Norton Reserves

 

Boro Rangers host Chester-Le-Street United in the North East Regional Women's Football League North this Sunday. Rangers have four points from their opening three games and are currently in fifth place. United have won their last two league games and are two points and two places better off than the hosts. The two sides have an equal goalscoring record from three games with an average 2.33 goals per game. The two side are looking quite similar at this early stage in the season and Rangers are rarely shy in front of goal. Don't imagine there'll be a clean sheet in this match so, it's going to a simple case of which team will score more (as is the objective of football - score more goals than your opponent).

It's top versus bottom as newly promoted Guisborough Town are away to league leaders unbeaten Blyth Town. Guisborough are currently at the foot of the table searching for their first points of the season. Blyth are at the top with seven points from their opening three games. This may seem like an uphill struggle for Guisborough but, it's still early days in the season and Blyth will eventually lose and Guisborough will eventually win, and there's no reason the two can't coincide this weekend.

Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves are away at Bishop Auckland this weekend. Norton Reserves have one win from their first four games while Bishop have a 50/50 record so far with two wins and two defeats. Bishop won their only home game by a single goal while Norton Res lost their only away game by a single goal. This game will be tight but, an away win will see the two join level on points in mid-table positions. The hosts are currently in sixth place but, they're just one point off league leaders Blyth. With just seven points between the entire division, there's going to be a lot of changes to the table come that final whistle on Sunday afternoon.

Weekend Preview: Guisborough Town Reserves v Boro Rangers - Middlesbrough Development v Redcar Athletic - Kader v Old Malton St Mary's - North Riding League

  Boro Rangers begin life in the North Riding League with a Teesside derby at Guisborough Town Reserves. Boro Rangers will be a very different side with a lot of changes for the new season. Guisborough Reserves will continue to grow and improve and this will be an interesting game to see where both sides are. Redcar Athletic start their campaign with a Teesside derby at Middlesbrough Women Development. On paper, Boro Devs look to have a competitive side with the addition of players like Vicky Gunn, Tyler Sharp and, Ebony Housam, among others. Athletic are always competitive and will be eyeing a place at the top or as close as come the end of the season. Kader return to the senior leagues this season with a home game against fellow newcomers Old Malton St Mary’s .

Weekend Preview: Leeds Utd v Middlesbrough - Norton v Chorley - FA Women's National League Division 1 North

Middlesbrough look to make it three wins from three this Sunday as they travel to West Yorkshire for a big match against Leeds United in The FA National League . Boro have started the season with back to back wins and hope to make a treble this weekend as they bid for an instant return to the premier division. Leeds are currently fourth in the Division 1 North after three games. They won their opening game against Hull 1-0 at home before losing away to Barnsley. The hosts also won their third game in midweek 4-0 at home against Stockport. Last weekend Boro had to dig in against Chorley to come from behind to claim three points for the second game in a row. Norton & Stockton Ancients host Chorley this Sunday looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
