Newton Aycliffe v East Durham Preview 17/10/21 Durham County League 2

Image
Third placed East Durham are away to fourth placed Newton Aycliffe in the Durham County League 2. The two are level on points but, Aycliffe have played three games more. Following their 10-1 win against Seaham Coast last week, East Durham made an instant response to their disappointing first defeat of the season and are focussed on building another run of positive results. The hosts have lost half of their games so far conceding 40 goals. With the likes of Bilcliff and Baldasera in the goalscoring form they are at the moment, it's hard to see East Durham not scoring this weekend regardless of the final result.

North Riding League Preview 17/10/21- Redcar Athletic v Thornaby, Richmond Development v Redcar Town Reserves, Poppleton v Guisborough Reserves

Image
Redcar Athletic host the second of this weekend's Teesside derbies as they welcome Thornaby to Green Lane. Athletic have had an indifferent start tot he season winning three and losing three so far this term. Thornaby have faired a little better by winning three and losing just once in their four league games. Only goal difference separates the sides ahead of the weekend with Thornaby boasting a mightily impressive +30 compared to Redcar Athletic's strong +12. With Thornaby leading The North Riding Football League goalscoring charts and Athletic in joint second place, it will come down to who's defence holds strongest. As things stand Thornaby pip the hosts on that score but, Athletic are now soaring after a poor start tot he campaign and have won three of their last four. - There's a big top of the table clash as league leaders Richmond Town Development host unbeaten Redcar Town Reserves in second place. Richmond lead with fifteen points from six games while Tow

Durham County League 1 Preview 17/10/21 - Gateshead v Pools Youth, CLS Amazons v Stockton Town

Fourth placed Pools Youth are away to unbeaten league leaders Gateshead in the Durham County League 1. The Pools are just two points off the leaders with a game in hand, and an away win this weekend could send them top of the table. Both sides have five wins apiece and the in-form Pools have achieved what the hosts have not yet... kept a clean sheet. Gateshead will be a tough test for the Pools but, it's a challenge they can rise to. The Anchors are in 12th place with four points from seven games while have seven points from five games. Stockton's form looks to have turned a corner picking up their first win of the season last weekend meaning they've taken four points from their last three league games having previous lost the first fou

NERWFL North Preview 17/10/21 Boro Rangers v Chester-le-Street Utd, Blyth Town v Guisborough, Bishop Auckland v Norton Reserves

Image
Boro Rangers host Chester-Le-Street United in the North East Regional Women's Football L eague North this Sunday. Rangers have four points from their opening three games and are currently in fifth place. United have won their last two league games and are two points and two places better off than the hosts. The two sides have an equal goalscoring record from three games with an average 2.33 goals per game. The two side are looking quite similar at this early stage in the season and Rangers are rarely shy in front of goal. Don't imagine there'll be a clean sheet in this match so, it's going to a simple case of which team will score more (as is the objective of football - score more goals than your opponent). - It's top versus bottom as newly promoted Guisborough Town are away to league leaders unbeaten Blyth Town . Guisborough are currently at the foot of the table searching for their first points of the season. Blyth are at the top with seven points from their

Hartlepool Utd v Redcar Town Preview 17/10/21

Image
Hartlepool Utd host Redcar Town at East Durham College in the North East Regional Women's Football League Premier this Sunday. Pools have had a tough start to the season losing their opening four games with a humbling away loss at Ossett Utd last weekend the first such heavy loss they've suffered. In contrast Redcar have enjoyed a very good start to the season winning three of their games and only losing by a penalty against current leaders York City. Redcar are in second place while Pools sit at the foot of the table where anything but defeat this weekend could lift off the bottom. With the quality the hosts possess, it's only a matter of time until they start registering points on the board. With York currently unbeaten and facing fellow unbeaten side Sunderland West End this Sunday, it's important for Town to keep pace wit the league leaders. They'll also be looking to maintain their momentum ahead of next week's FA Cup game against National League Leeds

Norton & Stockton Ancients v Newcastle Utd Preview 17/10/21

Image
There's an exciting Tees-Tyne derby match this weekend as Norton & Stockton Ancients host Newcastle United in The FA Women's National League Division 1. Newcastle are enjoying a good start to the season sitting in third place, six points off leaders Leeds. They've won four games so far. Norton have won three of their league games so far and are currently in seventh place, four points behind this week's visitors. A home win will close that gap to a single point. Norton are unbeaten in their last three games in league and cup and confidence is flowing. Both sides have drawn against Chorley (4th) and lost to Liverpool Feds (2nd). Chris Burton will be aware of the danger posed by the Magpies with their goalscoring and defensive record - both second in the league - but, these two sides aren't that far apart and a home win is more than a possibility. Norton have the ability to really frustrate Newcastle which, can work to their advantage and Norton will also thri

Middlesbrough Preview v Stoke City 17/10/21

Middlesbrough entertain Stoke City at Bedford Terrace in The FA Women's National League this Sunday. Last weekend Andy Campbell's side picked up their second league win of the campaign and are keen to start building from that dramatic victory, against a Potters side in a similar position. Both have played seven games. Both have lost five. Both are better teams than their current league positions suggest. Boro are two points and places better off than the visitors with two wins while the Potters have won one and drawn one. They've lost three straight games in league and cup since their 1-1 draw with Brighouse three weeks ago. Their only league win so far was the 1-5 away win at Loughborough at the beginning of September. A trend of points (in some form) every three weeks. Neither side has yet managed a clean sheet in the league and have failed to find the back of the net on three occasions each, this game with either be very tight or wide open. 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦:- Mid
